A SERIES OF DEVOTIONS BASED ON PAUL’S LETTER TO THE EPHESIANS 

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART

Ephesians 6:10 “ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”  

When life becomes difficult, problems abound and solutions are elusive, resources are hard to find and you are depressed I encourage you to read Psalm 121:   I lift up my eyes to the mountains—   where does my help come from?   2 My help comes from the LORD,   the Maker of heaven and earth.   3 He will not let your foot slip—   he who watches over you will not slumber;   4 indeed, he who watches over Israel   will neither slumber nor sleep.   5 The LORD watches over you—   the LORD is your shade at your right hand;   6 the sun will not harm you by day,   nor the moon by night.   7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—   he will watch over your life;   8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going   both now and forevermore.  Nothing more needs to be said, does it? God is almighty! He is your heavenly Father. He, through His Son is present in your life at all times. “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust Him, and He will help you.” (Psalm 37:5)  Prayer: I am trusting Thee Lord Jesus, trusting only Thee. Amen.  This King of love my shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never;  I nothing lack if I am His And He is mine forever. 

Where streams of living water flow, My ransomed soul He leadeth
And, where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth. 

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love He sought me
And on His shoulder gently laid And home rejoicing brought me. 

In death’s dark vale I fear no ill With Thee, dear Lord, beside me,
Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me. 

Thou spreadst a table in my sight; Thine unction grace bestoweth;
And, Oh, what transport of delight From Thy pure chalice floweth! 

And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house forever!  (LSB 709)
