June 21st Daily Devotion
A SERIES OF DEVOTIONS BASED ON PAUL’S LETTER TO THE EPHESIANS
A CHRISTIAN EMPLOYEE – PART II
Ephesians 6:7 “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people . . .”
There is a hymn you probably have sung any number of times. A number of the verses of this hymn capture what you have been reading and meditating upon here in Ephesians 6:5-6 and especially in today’s devotion, verse 7. The words are an excellent prayer you can pray to God asking Him to help you live your life in obedience, respect, and honor to Him and to His glory. The following are phrases from that hymn:
Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands and let them move At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee.
. . . Take my lips and let them be Filled with messages from Thee.
. . . Take my intellect and use Ev’ry pow’r as Thou shalt choose.
Take my will and make it Thine, It shall be no longer mine;
Take my heart, it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal Throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee. (LSB 783 and 784)
