Our Mission

Our Mission is to expand the Kingdom of God, one person at a time.

Our Focus

An old evangelist once said that a church must be "cross-eyed" if it is to be what God intends it to be. We strive to keep our vision on the cross of Christ, for it is there we find the epitome of God's wrath against sin and the epitome of God's love for the sinner. The Good News in a nutshell is offered in John 3:16-17: "This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life." God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it.*

Our Empowerment

We are blessed and empowered by the Holy Spirit to expand the Kingdom of God by sharing the "Good News" about Jesus!

Beliefs and Mission of Crown of Life

What We Believe . . .

We believe in and serve the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. We accept and teach Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Scripture alone, Faith alone.

Grace alone

God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Scripture alone

The Bible is God's inherent and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

Faith alone

By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Our Calling . . .

When Jesus was asked about what God expects of us, he gave a twofold response. First, we are to love and serve God. Second, we are to love and serve our neighbors. We strive to maintain this as our primary focus at Crown of Life Lutheran Church. As God has loved us, we are called to love him and to share that love with others. As Jesus made it clear that he came not to be served but to serve, we believe the same to be true for our Church: We are servants of the Lord Jesus Christ!
